“Lụa” is a collection inspired by images of banyan trees, sunny villages north of Vietnam and the women working in the rice terraces. Vietnamese culture is very complex, in part due to the participation of many groups in Vietnamese history. Despite years of Chinese occupation and colonialism under French rule, the Vietnamese retained a strong and separate identity. “Lụa” is a Spring Transitional 2018 collection which translates to silk in Vietnamese. Lụa represents many ideas surrounding naturally occurring elements in the rural areas of Vietnam and its raw sensibilities. Inspired by elements of classical Vietnamese dress, this collection explores the importance of heritage through traditional silhouettes in a earthy rustic color palette. Looks will continue in refined, earthy and fluid silhouettes with rich surfaces and colors for a modern look.
