Kyla Nhi Pham

Luminaria is inspired by my Vietnamese name, Hai Nhi, meaning “child of the sea,” and my feelings about the ocean. Beyond its outward beauty, the ocean’s depths reflect the hidden depths of human life, places shaped by memories, struggles, and emotions. As I navigate dark periods in my soul, the bioluminescent light of the deep sea creatures becomes a powerful symbol of resilience and quiet vitality. This evening gown collection draws inspiration from marine life through transparency, softness, and light, using delicate fabrics and luminous embellishments. Through Luminaria, I translate inner emotions into garments that shine from within, exploring how beauty and strength can exist even in invisible depths.

    Kyla Pham is a fashion design student whose work explores identity, femininity, and cultural heritage through a contemporary lens. Inspired by her Vietnamese roots, she combines traditional craftsmanship with modern silhouettes to create sophisticated and wearable garments. Her design approach is based on sustainability and meticulous attention to detail, focusing on quality materials and timeless designs. Kyla’s works often reflect themes of self-expression, empowerment, and emotional storytelling, shaped by her personal experiences and her interest in gender and cultural narratives. Through her creative practice, she aims to create garments that foster confidence while celebrating individuality and authenticity.
