Being Beyond The Veil

Being Beyond the Veil is a narrative that examines metaphysical existence through Colombia’s pre-colonial spirituality and personal philosophical views,  interrogating the mortality of the soul. I have intertwined a nihilistic vision of a posthumous state, contradicting the conquistadors’ religious doctrines of an eternal salvation to heaven. Instead, I have created a visual: the soul endures in a condition of perpetual wandering, decaying into a complete unknown. This 5 look collection explores my ideologies on the rejection of religion, undoing the colonial promise of moral closure, and replacing it with the acceptance of uncertainty that existence can persist without justification.
