Mirror & Margin considers perfectionism not as an aesthetic pursuit, but as a culturally embedded system shaping how beauty and identity are read and maintained. It explores how perfectionism operates within ritual, communicated in coded visual language that normalizes body surveillance in dominant fashion imagery and media. The publication weaves research, photography, and analogue practices into an ongoing process, placing the idealized image against what falls beyond its frame. In this space, the tension between perfection and its opposite emerges. Rather than resolving these tensions, Mirror & Margin holds them open, exposing the constructed nature of systems that claim permanence.
