Captured Moments

Carissa Burkhart

My capstone project explores the meaning found within everyday moments. Using photographs I’ve captured as references, l created three large-scale paintings. These works consider how simple moments can hold memory, nostalgia, and connection, encouraging viewers to pause and recognize the value in the everyday.

ABOUT THE DESIGNER

A monochromatic close-up portrait of a young woman with long, straight, light-colored hair parted in the middle, cascading over her shoulders. She looks directly at the camera with a calm expression, featuring prominent eyes with dark eyelashes and full lips. She wears a dark top and a delicate silver necklace against a plain light gray background.

Carissa Burkhart

My work is inspired by everyday moments I capture through photography. I’m drawn to the emotion in experiences and believe there is beauty and purpose in every part of life. Using my photos as references, I create illustrations and paintings that reflect presence and feeling. Moving forward, I hope to sell my art and take commissions that transform meaningful memories into artwork people can connect with on a personal level.
