I, the Lobster by Emajyn is an experimental, sustainably conscious, entry-level luxury women’s eveningwear collection that thematically explores the non-linear ways in which we come into queer identity. Made for the everyday overdressing woman, the collection pursues the purpose of avant-functionality – versatile garments that are avant-garde and functional. The collection uses experimental approaches to sustainable garment production through its use of deadstock fabrics, SCOBY leather, and upcycled materials.

Emma Wood

Emma is a fashion designer focused on sustainable maximalism and garments that offer a playful aesthetic without sacrificing functionality. Her work often deals with themes of gender and relationships inspired by queer theory. New sustainable materials inspire Emma and she incorporates the use of deadstock fabrics, upcycles unusual materials and creates her own bio textiles. Emma’s work creates a fashion future that emphasizes sustainable practices and embraces unique functional style.
