Culture in Transit

Mariana Coscatl Castro

Culture in Transit explores the evolving nature of Mexican identity within the Canadian context. It reflects on how culture is carried through everyday moments preserved, adapted, and quietly reimagined through visual expression and personal narratives. Grounded in memory and lived experience, the project approaches identity as something fluid and deeply human. It exists in the in-between where belonging and change meet, shaped by movement, environment, and the stories we hold onto. Rather than fixed, culture becomes something we carry with us, continuously unfolding over time.
