Shantine Li AW26 is an examination of economic anxiety in the contemporary cityscape through deconstructed genderfluid office wear. My collection reimagines the 2008 recession for the modern-day office worker: the company’s employees are told they have lost their jobs, homes, and livelihoods. As they gather up their belongings, they decide to have one last office party. Through the night, their clothing gets twisted, pulled, comes off, and gets put back on, creating familiarly disorienting forms.

ABOUT THE DESIGNER

A young East Asian woman with long dark hair and bangs smiles gently while wearing clear-framed glasses and silver hoop earrings. She is wearing a black t-shirt against a plain light-colored background.
