MUSE is based around the idea of self actualization and the act of becoming your best self. One of the biggest things I have taken away from my experience of being in fashion school is the self confidence and self belief needed to excel in not only the fashion industry, but in life. You are only as good, talented, creative, and as strong as you make people believe you are – and for them to believe you, you must believe it yourself first. MUSE explores this concept through a denim heavy menswear collection, focusing on cyanotype prints of images that exude the idea of what self actualization means to me in my journey and creative process.
Leaving this program, I still may not be the best pattern drafter, sewer, artist, or creative in general amongst my talented peers, but without a doubt I can understand that I am the most determined, the hungriest, and the most resilient. I needed these 4 years to show me that, I needed the experience of fashion school to awaken my understanding of self actualization, and I need this collection, amidst my brand Bnash, to celebrate, teach, and indulge in this crucial life concept.
