I Am Just is a short fashion film that revolves around the themes of love, sex, sexuality, and the exploration and development of oneself that should be experienced without shame as a part of the process of becoming a young adult. The film introduces these themes through its dialogue, music, and through 5 garment designs as the visual representations to reinforce these themes. The garments and jewelry design pieces in the film can be seen to be made from unconventional materials such as laundry sheets and condoms along with garments made from upcycled materials and garments that all reflect the themes for the intended audience. The film’s framework is centered around sexual script theory, attachment theory, inclusivity, and intersectionality with the hopes of exposing the world of fashion to the importance of sex positivity through talks about women’s experience, consensual intimacy, sexual health education, and body image in order to create inclusive safe environments.
