My work explores the fusion of traditional culture and modern technology, inspired by the ancient Chinese classic Shanhaijing. This experimental clothing collection reinterprets its mythical world using contemporary materials like mirrors and acrylic, transforming garments into wearable art installations. Through 3D printing, laser cutting, and handcrafting, I create dynamic designs that play with light, reflection, and form. Embedded LED lights illuminate intricate acrylic panels depicting Shanhaijing scenes, arranged in kaleidoscopic patterns to evoke infinite wonder.
The interplay of light and reflection symbolizes the layers of meaning in Shanhaijing, bridging ancient myths with modern innovation. When unlit, the garments are sleek and geometric; when illuminated, they reveal vibrant, dreamlike landscapes.
