Growing Into Fashion and Friendship

With the different worlds we all live in, we have different needs in our day to day lives and not everything is made to suit those needs. I wanted to design five different bags, one for each of the four people I grew up with, and one for myself. I wanted to show how we have grown as people In different ways based on our individual lives and interests, and how that affects what we would value in fashion. My friends mean the world to me, even though we have all grown to be so different from one another. This collection is my way of supporting their interests with my own.

This was taken by my mom when we finished making the skirt I was wearing. It was my first ever project and I still have it.
Primary sketch for one of the bags and the person it was being made for, Abigail.

Primary sketch and colour palette inspired by pigeon colouring.
I make paper mockups of the bags to better understand the shape and size.
Each bag was painstakingly done, The quilting being an example of how I spent hours on every detail.
