Yearn is a physical and creative documentation of queer culture in Toronto, capturing the portraits, interpretations and works of local writers, poets, students, models and musicians. This photobook asks its viewer to expand their understanding of music, fashion and individual expression in relation to the complex and often taboo subject matter of the gender and sexuality spectrum, fetishism and erotica. The beautiful, reflective, erotic, uncomfortable nature of this work is an outlet for its creator, Lauren McHale, to express her personal experiences, emotions and aesthetic insight into a tangible piece.
