Rava Palibroda

SECRET GARDEN is a womenswear collection comprised of separates and statement pieces that seeks to explore the complex feeling of being lost and subsequently found. Playing upon themes of nostalgia, femininity, self-discovery, youth, and our innate connection to nature – this collection is a love letter to the wearer. Inspired by the shapes found in modern and historical undergarments and dancewear, it is rooted in whimsy and mystery, striking a balance between the comfort found in structural corsets and the need for freedom and movement within the delicate fabrics that adorn them. Themes are expressed through the use of layering transparent fabrics, utilizing flower motifs, incorporating vintage skeleton keys, and French lace. While creating this collection, I was lost and found many times throughout the process, but the final result has been one ultimately informed by the beauty of nature, mystery, and how the human experience can be dramatically altered by our surroundings and what we wear.
