LOVE,TRAGEDY & INTROSPECTION

My capstone project is an exploration of love and tragedy through an existential lens, presenting both as integral to human growth. I believe that love and tragedy are inevitable forces of nature and all are bound to experience it as part of our human condition. This collection is a symbolism of the cyclical nature of love and tragedy. White being the primary colour, symbolizes the contrast between Eastern and Western ideas of life and mortality, white symbolizing beginnings in the West and death in the East. I wish to immerse the audience in a cathartic and sensory experience with this collection, as heartache is a physical and emotional purging of the body much like Tragedies historically are renowned for its contribution to a visceral reaction from the audience. In this capstone, I aim to reframe love and heartbreak as transformative forces, encouraging audiences to view tragedy not as a finality but as a path to growth.
