Luminescent

Maneli Ramezannia

Luminescent is an exploration of identity shaped through transformation, memory, and quiet resistance. Rooted in Persian culture, the collection reflects a transition from visibility to concealment, tracing the shift of Iranian expression before and after the revolution. Rather than relying on literal symbolism, the narrative unfolds through form, structure, and material.

Architectural references drawn from Persian domes and sacred geometry inform the silhouettes, creating a sense of balance, harmony, and control. These structured foundations are contrasted with soft, translucent fabrics such as lace and tulle, allowing the garments to move between exposure and concealment. Hand beading introduces moments of light, while resin elements preserve and solidify delicate forms, embodying resilience within fragility.

Each look exists as part of a larger progression, moving through states of opulence, restriction, and re-emergence. Luminescent positions fashion as a subtle yet powerful language, one that holds space for cultural memory while illuminating the strength that endures beneath the surface.

ABOUT THE DESIGNER

Maneli Ramezannia

Rooted in Persian heritage, the designer’s work is driven by a deep engagement with culture, memory, and transformation. Drawing from the richness of Iranian history, architecture, and craftsmanship, each collection becomes a study of contrast, where structure meets fluidity, and delicacy exists alongside strength.

Mnaeli’s debut collection, Luminescent, reflects a narrative of transition, exploring the shifting visibility of Iranian identity through time. Influenced by the symmetry of Persian architecture and the symbolism of sacred geometry, the work translates cultural references into sculptural silhouettes and intricate surface detail. Techniques such as draping, corsetry, and hand beading are used to create garments that hold both emotional and physical weight.

With a focus on storytelling, Maneli’s practice positions fashion as more than adornment, offering garments as vessels for meaning, where beauty is not only seen but deeply felt.
