XERCES

Belle Bermeo

XERCES is a phygital S/S 26 avant-garde sportif digital CLO3D and physical fiber art collection/runway show exploring the lineage of modern feminism, spirituality, and conscious creation. The collection challenges female marginalization in skateboarding and aims to increase opportunities for women in male-dominated spaces, in support of women’s freedom of movement. Garments prioritize power dressing through functionality, autonomy, sustainability, and freedom of movement. XERCES references the Xerces blue butterfly, the first to go extinct from urbanization, reflecting the importance of mindful human interactions with nature. Despite this, butterflies persevere, symbolizing resilience and freedom, and are akin in spirit to rebellious female skaters and warriors who shape this collection.
