My collection explores the invisible emotional landscape within parent–child relationships in traditional Chinese families, where love, control, and silence coexist. The essence of the collection lies in the contradiction between tenderness and restraint — between the warmth of care and the weight of expectation. This project transforms those psychological and cultural tensions into a tangible, wearable language through fabric, form, and texture.

The emotional restraint that defines many Chinese families creates a paradoxical love — deep and genuine, yet unspoken and suffocating. In my designs, the body becomes a metaphor for both the oppressed and the liberated self — constrained by outer layers yet revealing vulnerability through transparency and softness. This collection interprets that complexity through contrasting materials and construction methods: structured, controlling silhouettes layered over fragile, translucent fabrics; and pleats and wrinkles that echo the traces of repressed emotions. Visually, the garments exist between deconstruction and reconstruction, reflecting the cyclical process of emotional rupture and healing. The interplay of light and shadow, hard and soft, open and enclosed, becomes a visual narrative of contradiction and unspoken lov

ABOUT THE DESIGNER

An East Asian woman with light pink hair styled in two pigtail braids smiles brightly at the camera from inside a cable car. She wears a brown and cream patterned top with a small Vivienne Westwood logo. Through the large window behind her, a sunny view of the expansive blue ocean, a green cliffside with a wooden promenade, and a clear sky are visible.
